NBT BANK HIRES BARCLAY AS COMMERCIAL BANKER FOR VERMONT


NORWICH, N.Y. (DECEMBER 18, 2009) – NBT Bank Regional President Matt Durkee announced that Alec Barclay has been hired as vice president and commercial banking relationship manager. In this position, Barclay is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with the bank’s commercial customers in Vermont. He is based at the bank’s regional office at 150 Bank Street in Burlington.

“Alec Barclay is an expert in commercial real estate development,” Durkee said. “His specialty is helping companies and individuals in Vermont with their real estate development and expansion projects.”

Barclay has more than 25 years of banking experience. Before joining NBT Bank, he was vice president of private banking for KeyBank in Burlington, where he worked for 18 years. Prior to this, he was vice president of community development banking and commercial real estate lending for KeyBank.

A resident of Essex Junction, Barclay has a bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal. He also completed the American Bankers Association’s National School of Real Estate Finance program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. His community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Vermont Community Loan Fund and as a committee member of the Champlain Housing Trust, Good News Garage, Essex Junction School District and United Way of Chittenden County.
