Matthew GranaiNBT BANK HIRES GRANAI AS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER FOR VERMONT


NORWICH, N.Y. (APRIL 23, 2010) – NBT Bank Regional President Matt Durkee announced that Matthew Granai has joined NBT Financial Group as vice president and relationship manager. In this position, Granai is assisting high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients in Vermont with their financial planning, investment management and fiduciary needs. He is based at NBT Bank’s regional office at 150 Bank Street in Burlington, Vt.

NBT Financial Group, a division of NBT Bank, provides services related to trust, investments, insurance and retirement. The group manages and administers assets of approximately $3.3 billion.

Granai has 23 years of financial services experience. Before joining NBT Financial Group, he was a wealth management officer in the Burlington area for nine years. Most recently, he worked for People’s United Bank and its predecessor, Chittenden Bank.

Granai is a native of Burlington and has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Vermont. He holds Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He also has a Master of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP). The MSFP program consists of advanced courses in retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning and investments.
