NBT BANK HIRES JOHNSON AS REGIONAL MANAGER FOR VERMONT
NORWICH, N.Y. (NOVEMBER 12, 2009) – NBT Bank Regional President Matt Durkee announced that Dan Johnson has been hired as vice president and regional manager. In this position, Johnson is responsible for developing and overseeing the bank’s branches in Vermont. He is based at the bank’s regional office at 150 Bank Street in Burlington. Later this year, the bank plans to open its first Vermont branch at the same location.“We are excited to have Dan Johnson heading our retail banking efforts in Vermont,” Durkee said. “He is a proven leader who will help roll out our unique brand of community banking.”
Johnson has 24 years of banking experience. Before joining NBT Bank, he was a district retail leader for KeyBank in Burlington for six years. In this role, he oversaw sales, customer service and operations for 13 branches in northwestern Vermont. His previous experience included working as a private banking account manager for Chittenden Bank in Burlington, where he managed loan and deposit portfolios for high-net-worth customers. In his 18 years with Chittenden Bank, he also held positions in credit analysis, branch management and business banking.
A resident of Essex Junction, Johnson has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Norwich University and completed the Cannon Financial Institute’s advanced trust investments program. He also holds industry-related securities registrations and insurance licenses. He is involved in several community organizations, including the Colchester-Milton Vermont Rotary Club, Vermont Dental Care Programs, Burlington Meals On Wheels and Essex Junction youth sports leagues.
