NBT BANCORP PROMOTES SMANIOTTO TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT


Cynthia SmaniottoNORWICH, N.Y. (SEPTEMBER 23, 2009) – Catherine Scarlett, executive vice president and director of human resources for NBT Bancorp, announced that Cynthia Smaniotto has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president.

Smaniotto is senior vice president and corporate employment manager for NBT Bancorp’s Human Division. Based in Scranton, she is responsible for human resources policies and procedures, employee relations and performance management related to the company’s operations in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. She has 23 years of human resources experience and has been with the company since 2000.

“Cindy Smaniotto has been a major contributor to our company’s human resources initiatives,” Scarlett said. “She has done an excellent job of enhancing our performance management and employee survey programs.”

Smaniotto, a Lake Ariel resident, has completed numerous banking industry courses. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
