NORWICH, N.Y. (OCTOBER 8, 2009) – Roger Clarkson, senior vice president of NBT Financial Services, announced that Mark Wendt has joined the firm as a financial consultant. In this position, Wendt is responsible for helping clients in Fonda, Amsterdam, Perth, Vail Mills and Speculator with their financial planning and insurance needs. He is based at NBT Bank’s Fonda Office at 34 West Main Street in Fonda.

Wendt has 24 years of financial services experience. Before joining NBT Financial Services, he was a financial consultant for First Niagara Financial Group in Fulton and Montgomery counties for three years. His other experience includes working as an account representative for Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments and as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance.

Wendt, a resident of Johnstown, holds several industry-related securities registrations and insurance licenses (securities registrations are held with LPL Financial). He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant.
