HAMILTON, NY (March 30, 2017) – On March 28, staff of NBT Bank’s Hamilton Office unveiled a transformed branch at a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception at the 1 Madison Street office. Renovations included upgrades to the building’s infrastructure and the installation of new, digital banking technology to enhance the customer experience.
“These renovations underscore our commitment to the Hamilton community,” said NBT Bank Branch Manager Tara Ashton. “We also introduced new digital technology that streamlines transactions and provides a modern and relaxed atmosphere for customers to interact with our staff on a more personal level.”
As part of the renovations, the lobby was redesigned with an open floor concept that includes an updated teller line. The branch features a tech bar complete with iPads that allow customers to learn more about bank products and services and access account information. NBT also installed a debit card instant issue machine and a walk-up ATM with new functionality that enables customers to make deposits quickly and easily without a deposit slip.
In addition, renovations included new offices for NBT-Mang Insurance Agency representatives who relocated from their former location at 50 Utica Street.
Renovations to the branch were not limited to a redesigned customer service area. NBT also replaced sidewalks, upgraded the walkway behind the building, installed a new roof, new energy efficient lighting, HVAC systems and fiber optics to support the technology upgrades.
This is the fourth office in the bank’s network that has undergone a digital transformation. NBT Bank offices in Syracuse, Albany and Cortland have been renovated to introduce similar features and technology.
